Eddie Cantor (1892-1964): Cantor was one of the foremost members of the generation of musical performers who translated prominence in the Ziegfeld Follies to stardom in musical films. The “Apostle of Pep” made profitable musicals for the Goldwyn studios, selling song-and-dance sequences with his down-to-earth charm. Eddie said: “It takes twenty years to make an overnight success.”
