Errol Flynn (1909-1959): The movies’ greatest swashbuckler, Errol Flynn played varied roles in twenty years, but the public wanted to see him fencing with villains and rescuing damsels. Though Flynn brought conviction to every role, typecasting (and a profligate lifestyle) prevented him from growing as an actor. He said: “I felt like an impostor, taking all that money for reciting ten or twelve lines of nonsense a day.”
