Lionel Barrymore (1878-1954): Barrymore became a stage star with The Copperhead and eventually forsook the stage to become first a leading man in silents, then a star of talkies, and finally a beloved character actor, even though he was confined to a wheelchair by degenerative joint disease. Lionel said: “I've got a lot of ham in me.”
