Selections from Michael's solo show at FATHOM
The work in this exhibition ranges from the pop-surrealism of Empress to steampunk in Chrysalis and a photorealistic rendering in Night Hanger. Michael’s technique starts with a color underpainting and then adds an overcoat of gray tones and neutral colors creating density and a sophisticated, somewhat desaturated color palette. This has the effect of drawing us deeper into the world he has created, slowly revealing the nuance of each piece. A lifetime of discovery awaits the new owners of these stunning paintings.
