Led Zeppelin

If hard rock can be singularly historically personified, it’s by Led Zeppelin. Formed in 1968, after a mere twelve years of recording and performing, they found themselves universally lauded by the very critics and listeners who panned them at their outset. Perhaps in the early ‘70s, people weren’t ready for the hard-hitting galvanizing nature of their new “hard” brand of rock. With influences ranging from blues, folk, and even elements of classical, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and the great John Bonham produced hard rock as we still know it today, influencing thousands of budding singers, guitar players and drummers across the globe to play with even a fraction of the soul and raw energy Led Zeppelin demonstrated.
