The Police drummer Stewart Copeland collaborated with SceneFour to create abstract art pieces that capture the unique nature of his musical performances.
This new genre of art, Rhythmic Expressionism, was developed by SceneFour as a way to translate live music onto museum canvas. The process incorporates drumsticks lit with various colored LED lights. It’s Stewart's unique drumming technique; his patterns, speeds, intensity that form the foundation of the final piece. Once the drum solos are digitally captured, SceneFour works directly with Stewart to ensure the final piece reflects the spirt of the music.
Copeland was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Police in 2003, the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2005, and the Classic Drummer Hall of Fame in 2013. Rolling Stone ranked him the 10th best drummer of all time in 2016.
