Bartholomew (Bart) Cooper is a contemporary artist of West African descent, born in Liberia and currently based in Los Angeles, California. Cooper's artistic vision was nurtured from a young age by the vibrant colors and breathtaking landscapes of his homeland. Because of the adversity of civil war, Cooper immigrated to the United States at the age of six, where he later pursued formal education in fine art, sculpture, and graphic design.
Cooper's work is influenced by the works of Italian Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci, American illustrator Norman Rockwell, and celebrated American artist Ernie Barnes. His mixed media and acrylic style is a seamless fusion of traditional African aesthetics and modern American culture, resulting in a unique and captivating visual language that has earned him a discerning clientele of celebrities and private collectors alike, both nationally and internationally.
