David Eddington Art

David Eddington is an accomplished British-American painter whose expansive career spans both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Bedfordshire, England in 1943, he studied at London's prestigious Central School of Art before becoming a tenured professor at Plymouth University. Relocating to the United States in 2000, Eddington spent time immersed in the unique landscape of New Orleans before permanently establishing his studio in Venice, California. His transition to the West Coast sparked a distinct evolution in his style, moving from strict photorealism into a highly expressive, layered approach to acrylic and oil painting. Eddington’s large-scale canvases often tackle the inherent tension between industrial development, natural environments, and historical memory. Boasting an extensive international exhibition record—including showcases at the Venice Biennale and the Laguna Art Museum—his compelling body of work consistently challenges our relationship with the modern landscape.
