Alison lives and works in Seattle but was a native of Los Angeles. She began photography as a teenager, shooting various fanzines that focused on the Los Angeles Punk Rock and Heavy Metal scene in the 1980’s. In the 1990’s she relocated to Seattle, WA where she documented the Seattle grunge movement in its early days. Her archive is extensive and features over 200 bands
Professional Background:
Alison was trained in photography by her father and worked as a master photographic printer in Los Angeles and Seattle, WA. She studied studio photography under the tutelage of Saulius Pempe at his Seattle studio and later worked in the advertising industry as photographer and print buyer.
