The art of Michael Andrew Rosenfeld encompass stylistic elements that range from documentary and narrative compositions to a surreal, almost steampunk vision. While some of the newest works exist in a borderland, a DMZ, that can be both realistic and surreal depending on how you choose to interpret the visual information presented by the artist. Michael’s technique starts with a color underpainting and then adds an overcoat of gray tones and neutral colors creating density and a sophisticated, somewhat desaturated color palette. This has the effect of drawing us deeper into the world he has created, slowly revealing the nuance of each piece.
Rosenfeld’s work has shown in galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver B.C., St. Louis, Minsk, and is found in collections internationally. Michael A. Rosenfeld Bio
