Marcel 'SEL' Blanco Artist Statement: "Growing up I was not a massive Bowie fan however I always had an enormous amount of respect for him as an artist. A fearless artist that follow his imagination which took into a multitude of mediums and modalities. I wanted to express his limitless creativity in this piece and felt what better way than placing him in outer space, plus it gives a nod to “Major Tom”. For this series I did of Jeffery Mayers photographs I drew inspiration from the poster art of the Fillmore to give his images a cohesive look."
