Drew Carolan

Drew Carolan Photography | FATHOM Art Editions

Drew Carolan is a photographer, filmmaker, and author hailing from New York’s fabled East Village. His photographic style is centered around empathy towards his subjects. Drew has an uncanny ability to expose those things that show we are all both unique and similar. Likewise his location photos, urban and rural, help us see a little deeper, allowing us to catch the vibe of the time and place he's shooting. FATHOM is pleased to present a series of photography collections from Drew's extensive archives of street, portraiture, entertainment and fashion photography:

  • CBGB MATINEE: selections from his monograph, MATINEE All Ages On The Bowery — a stunning photography series documenting the kids attending Saturday Matinee shows at the truly legendary CBGB club.
  • American Mosaic: an ongoing, multi-volume collection of photographs capturing those moments that show the connections between people and places across America. Documenting that our melting pot is, in fact, a collection of millions of individuals, cities, towns and histories that together form a single multifaceted picture. Native Eye is a homage to New York City and Beyond W. 4th St. a travel journal of sorts as Drew travels west, assisting Richard Avedon while shooting the seminal In the American West Series.
  • FUSION: a collection of photographs from album cover shoots, editorial portraits, film stills and fashion assignments. It’s a survey of our world in the late 20th Century, mixing fashion, music and cinema, the elemental building blocks of pop culture.

Drew Carolan lives and works in Los Angeles, you can read a brief bio here.
