Gregory Peck (1916-2003): Peck became a star because of his strong-jawed dignity and musical voice filled the need for a postwar hero. Gregory remained a star for forty years because he learned to personify liberalism and integrity without appearing insincere, yet he was equally convincing as the occasional villain. He said: “Playing the good guys is more challenging because it’s harder to make them interesting.”
