Dark Angel, Testament drummer Gene Hoglan collaborated with SceneFour to create abstract art pieces that capture the unique nature of his musical performances.
This new genre of art, Rhythmic Expressionism, was developed by SceneFour as a way to translate live music onto museum canvas. The process incorporates drumsticks lit with various colored LED lights. It’s Gene’s unique drumming technique; his patterns, speeds, intensity that form the foundation of the final piece. Once the drum solos are digitally captured, SceneFour works directly with Gene to ensure the final piece reflects the spirt of the music.
Because Hoglan's playing style is very technically demanding, he has earned nicknames of "The Atomic Clock" and "Human Drum Machine."
