Curator's Note: Taggart builds the entire image inside a small central cluster, then lets two-thirds of the surface stay raw paper. Sage green pools at the top, warm beiges drift to the right, a wash of peach and rust runs through the middle, turquoise drops out of the bottom-left like ink hitting water. Over all of it she drags a white serpentine line — calligraphic, almost squeeze-bottled — that ignores the wash boundaries and binds the cluster together. Splatter rings the lower edge. Nothing reads fully saturated; the whole palette stays dusty and tonal. What the painting does is hold itself in. Restraint is the gesture.
