Artist Statement:
'Guía Espiritual' is part of a series and study of different Native iconography of the Americas, made as part of a residency that took place in Mexico. The "azucenas", a flower endemic to Latin American cultures, is a tribute to my grandmother. This Flower symbolizes renewal and transience, unity and peace, and has been valued for its spiritual significance in art since ancient times.
