SONIC 2.0: Noise & Vision was a pop-up exhibition at FATHOM Gallery, 12227 Wilshire Blvd. It opened on March 28, 2026, ran through [closing date], and was curated by Marcel ‘SEL’ Blanco and Francis Coiro.
Marcel ‘SEL’ Blanco, an art director, graffiti artist, and musician, reworked music photographs spanning more than four decades, returning to musicians who shaped his own work. He layered, recolored, and rebuilt each source image into a new composite. The exhibition paired two traditions that both began outside the gallery: rock photography, in the pit, and street art, on the wall.
SONIC 2.0’s subjects ranged from Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, The Who, and Bob Marley to Joan Jett, Black Flag, Henry Rollins, Minor Threat, the Circle Jerks, Bad Brains, the Ramones, LL Cool J, Stone Temple Pilots, Fishbone, Circa Survive, the Melvins, and Idles.
SEL made the SONIC 2.0 works in collaboration with seven photographers: Jeffrey Mayer, Kevin Salk, Richard Abagon, Alison Braun, Drew Carolan, Fabrice Henssens, and George Ortiz. Several were shown publicly for the first time. The composites remain available from FATHOM.
