Description

Los Angeles Architectural Photograph | Signed Limited Edition Print

A Robert Landau photograph of the Streamline Moderne entrance pylons of the former Pan-Pacific Auditorium at 7600 Beverly Boulevard, designed by Wurdeman and Becket and completed in 1935. The building was destroyed by fire in 1989; only photographic record remains.

Artist: Robert Landau

Title: Pan-Pacific Auditorium

Edition: Signed and numbered in the margin, archival pigment prints on 100% cotton watercolor paper, limited edition:

  • 16X20, edition of 25
  • 24X30, edition of 5

Curator's Note The composition isolates the rhythmic, finned geometry of the exterior towers against a deep, solid blue sky. By framing the repeating horizontal curves and vertical thrust of the pylons from a tight angle, the image strips away the broader facade to focus purely on structural momentum. This precise perspective transforms a historic emblem of commercial streamline design into a bold abstraction of mid-century industrial optimism and monumental scale.
